I learned that exams are extremely important in high school.  My plans for next year are the same as this year. Just get good grades and the same old stuff. I also learned how hard high school is compared to middle school. In Middle School, there was barely any homework to do every night. Now, we have hours of homework every night. Also, we have to study at least twice as much for each exam. I just can't wait until school is over.

John Shields Exams

On the exams, my goal is to do as well as I did on my midterms. My worst midterm exam grade was in History, so I need to improve that. I am not naturally good at finding the important facts in the textbook, so I will have to study very hard for this exam and do a lot of work. I am good at math, so I do not need to study for that much. For physics, our exam is a lab, and I am already doing pretty well on that because physics is very similar to math. I will need to study a lot of vocab for the English and Spanish exams, which will be challenging. For theatre I have to memorize a scene. I will have to do a lot of memorization for the upcoming exams. There are probably 300 Spanish vocabulary words to memorize, 100 English definitions, tons of history terms, many definitions for theatre, a scene of a play to memorize for theatre, several facts about many Spanish countries, and last some math equations. This does not include grammar, books, and other things I will need to study.

John Shields Summer

In the summer, I plan to go to a few weeks of summer camp. I will also go to the beach with my family for about a week. I don't know if we have summer reading, but if we do, I will need to do that, too. I have a few weeks free this summer, so I could do the reading then. On the weeks I have home, I plan to sleep, play video games, eat, and hang out with my family or friends. I'm not sure what else I am doing this summer, but there are probably some other things I am doing that I don't know about yet.

Four day weekend John Shields

The weekend started on Thursday night, and I watched Killjoy at Haverford. The next day I stayed home and went to a play called The Odd Couple. It was a funny play, but I missed the Sixers game on Friday night because of the play. Sixers won that night, giving the a 2-1 lead over Detroit. On Saturday, I played Tennis and watched some of the NFL draft. I think the Eagles had a good draft this year considering they didn't get anyone in the first round. Saturday night I went to Blair's birthday party. The next night I watched the Sixers game, and unfortunately they lost. The series is tied 2-2, and I really feel the Sixers should have won, being up by 10 in the first half. Even if the Sixers lose the series, they made it farther than anyone thought they would, so its a win for them. On Monday I watched Sweeney Todd, a very gory movie. Even with all the blood, it was a great film and I recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind blood. Tonight in 10 minutes, I am going to watch the Flyers game. The Flyers are tied at 1-1 in their series, and were robbed in the first game. That basically recaps my whole weekend.

Blog 28 John Shields

Haverford sets up dances and clubs, like AIDS walk, mostly with Baldwin and Agnis Irwin, so they are the closest schools. Agnis Irwin girls aren't nearly as obnoxious as Baldwin girls, but I think its funny, not annoying. I'm not sure which school I like best, because they're just normal people and not really different.
